Cynadel is the largest country in Asaldur. It ruled by a King or Queen, using nobility and family as a right to rule. There are four Barons who rule beneath the King and rule over different territories. The Baron rules over their own city, as well as over the Lords of the other cities in their territory. Each city is ruled over by a Lord in turn. The King is allowed to take away rights and lands from Lords as well as grant them to others.

Geography Edit

Cynadel covers the Northwestern area of Asaldur. There is a forest that runs along the Southern border, shared with Raynvalt. The eastern border is at the start of the neck which forms the peninsula containing Shahren-Dor. The western edge of Cynadel within the Oscea contains many beaches, which are often transformed into a resort of sort for the wealthy to visit in the summer. There are many cities across the country, but most of them are more towards the East, where the population is higher. There are many hills and mountains that run through the middle of the country, with its tallest mountain being the exact point that all four of Cynadel's regions meet.

Government Edit

Cynadel is ruled over by a single King or Queen, with the title held by House Ezemys and the seat of power at Regamast. After the King or Queen there rules four Barons, Baron of Castenia, Baron of Estia, Baron of Shiobar, and Baron of Oscea. Each Baron is given a region of land to rule over, which includes several cities large enough for a keep. Each of these cities and their surrounding areas are ruled by a Lord, who in turn reports to the Barons.

Each titleholder has the option to designate who will inherit their title after death, as long as the designated is part of their family. In the event that a titleholder has not designated an heir, the eldest child will inherit the title. If no child is able to inherit than it will go to next of kin. In the event of a dispute over who gains the title, a higher ranking noble may make the decision themselves.

Regions and Territories Edit

There are four regions in Cynadel, ruled by the four Barons. These are Castenia, Estia, Shiobar, and Oscea. Shiobar is the largest of the four regions, though the most sparse due to a large amount of forested land. The forest is considered the natural barrier from Raynvalt to the south. Estia is the smallest region, however one of the richest. Because of its nearness to Merchant's Key, much of the country's inner trade is done through Estia.

Population Edit

Though the largest region, Shiobar is the sparsest because of the land being covered by a large forest. Castenia is the next largest region, and, as the second most populous region, contains a large amount of the population. Oscea is filled with resorts along its coast and is a large tourist attraction, though due to prices for living there, it hosts under a quarter of the population. Finally, Estia is the most populous of the four regions, and acts as a large trading hub. It is said that more than a third of Cynadel's population are in Estia at any given time.

The following are population estimates per region based off the Current Age:
